Provisional Directors Dunedin. Edward MUlashan William Fuller W. Hi Reynolds Local. Louis' Miller Samuel Thompson Dennis Powell Bankers: ; Bank of Otago (Limited). Brokers: Richard Creeth, . Evans Kennelly and Co. ‘ Office : Temple Chambers, Princes-st., Dimedin. THE object the promoters of the Company have in view is to work the celebrated claim known as Miller, Pinkerton'’ and Co.’s, immediately adjoining that; of the prospectors of the Scandinavian Reef, so famous for its rich returns. The present shareholders of this claim, nine in number, agree to accept the moderate sum of £3500 for their rights, and vtake the price out in paid-up shares, and ;>.fclso make additional investments, so *-confident are they of the value of this ; the sole object in forming a »company being to introduce capital for * the proper and immediate development of rthe claim. „ .The claim extends 405 feet along the , reef, and very rich quartz has been struck .in the two prospecting shafts. The proprietors are now puttiiig in a tunnel from tthe hill side, in order to cut across the reef and its main leader, which runs parallel with the reef, when a very large body of rich quartz will be immediately .available; abundance of timber can be had on the: spot for all requirements. The richest quartz struck by the adjoining claim—the Scandinavian Company—is in the . shaft immediately adjoining the boundaries of this claim, and the reef here is over four feet wide ; the stone from it shows gold likely to give a yield of from ten.to twelve ounces to the ton ; this is the estimate formed by good judges who have examined the claim. The prospects obtained from the stone already struck show excellent results. , The claim is one of three situate between'the Scandinavian Co.’s and Messrs Perry, Watt and Co.’s, but immediately adjoining the former, and arrangements to. amalgamate can be entered into with the intermediate sections. The facilities for working the claim cheaply are very great—no expensive shafts being required—and the quartz taken out from the tunnels can readily be conveyed by paeans of a tramway and shoots to the crashing machine. A valuable Water Right and Site for . Machinery is attached to this claim, which takes up the water as it leaves Messrs Perry and Co.’s machine, and likecah be made available for crushing stone for other Companies. - Forms of applications for shares can be obtained from the Brokers of the Company, Mr Richard Creeth, or Messrs Evans, Kennelly, and Co., Temple Chambers, Princes street, Dunedin. " a. large number of shares have already beenjapplied for, and the Share List .will • remain’open but a short time. Jlunedin, 23rd January, 1866.
