P R O SPEC T U S . of the gKIPPER’S QUARTZ jyjTNING Q O M P A N Y, SCANDINAVIAN BEEF, Known as MILLER, PINKERTON AND CO.’S CLAIM. - To be Registered under the Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865. Capital, £12,500; in 2,500 Shares, of £5 Each. . But it is expected, by the Promoters that no more than £3 per Share will be required^ Deposit, 10s on application, 10s On allotment, and Calls of 5s each at intervals ■ • . of not less than One Month. Provisional- Directors : Dunedin, Edward M'Glashan William Fuller . W. H. Reynolds Local. Louis Miller Samuel Thompson Dennis Powell Bankers: Bank of Otago (Limited). Brokers: Richard Creeth, « Evans Kennelly and Co. Office : 'Temple Chambers, Princes-st., Dunedin. THE object the promoters of the Company have in view is to work the celebrated claim known as Miller, Pinkerton and Co.’s, immediately adjoining 'that of the prospectors of the Scandinavian Reef, so famous for its rich returns. The present shareholders of this claim, •nine in number, agree to accept the moderate sum of £3500 for their rights, and take the price out in paid-up shares, and also make additional investments, so confident are they of the value of this property ; the sole object in forming a , company being to introduce capital for i the proper and immediate development of tithe claim. The claim extends 405 feet along, the iieef, and very rich quartz has been struck iin the two prospecting shafts. The proprietors are now putting in a tunnel from the hill side, in order to cut across the reef and its main leader, which runs parallel with the reef, when a very large body of rich quartz will be immediately available; abundance of timber can be had 6n the spot for all requirements. The richest quartz struck by the adjoining claim—the Scandinavian Company—is in the shaft immediately adjoining the boundaries of this claim, and the reef here is over four feet wide ; the stone from it shows gold likely to give a yield of from ten to twelve ounces to the ton ; this* is "the estimate formed by good judges who have examined the claim. The prospects obtained from the stone already struck show excellent results. The claim is one of three situate be■tween the Scandinavian Go. s and Messrs -Perry, Watt and Co.’s, but immediately -adjoining the former, and arrangements to amalgamate can be entered into with the intermediate sections. - The facilities for working the claim cheaply are very great —no expensive shafts being required—and the quartz taken out from the tunnels can readily be conveyed by means of a tramway and shoots to the crushing machine. A valuable Water Right and Site for Machinery is attached to this claim, which takes up the water as it leaves Messrs Perry and Co.’s machine, andlike,Can be made available for crushing stone for other Companies, - Forms of applications for shares can be .■obtained from the Brokers of the Company, Mr Richard Creeth, or Messrs Evans, Kennelly, and Co., Temple Chambers, Princes street, Dunedin. A large number of shares have already been applied for, and the Share List will .remiain ojten but a short time. ' January,. •
