THIS Company is established to secure -the co-operation of the various Colonies in obtaining the large premium income to be derived from : insuring their own Imports • and Exports, and will offer by a large paid up and subscribed capital, the most ample security, operating, owing-tothe distribution of the capital among the different centres of trading operations, with gi'eater safety and profit than if a large amount were invested at any one place. By the influence which will be brought to bear by Boards of Direction and shareholding bodies in e"ach Colony, the Company will secure, both through their English Branch and the respective Colonial Offices and Foreign Branches, the.premiums now paid to Foreign Companies. The establishment in each Colony will practically be a Separate Local Office, having the management of ' its own affairs, controlled by a Directory nominated and elected by the local shareholders. The Capital, .paid-up, and other funds in each place, will be invested/ as far as pi'actioable, in local securities, thus keeping on the spot adequate means of promptly meeting all liabilities and claims, and providing for ]}&ymetits at different ports of discharge, while the total Capital of the Company will be liable for each transaction, and reciprocal interests Will obtain a large amount of support to each'of the various offices. At the same time, by a combination of results, a more favourable average is secured, and much greater certainty of prolits will ensue. _An ordinary General Meeting of Proprietors will be held half-yearly at each office for the election of Directors and Auditors, the reception of the Report of the Local Directors, and other general business. ' The Directors of each Office will elect their ■Chairman and Vice-Chairman (both of whom will be ex-officio members of the General Court of Directors), Secretary, and other officers for 'conduct of the local business.
