The Oamaru Times says:—"The holidays have, as usual, materially interfered with business, and there is nothing of importance to report. There has been an unusual amount of business done at the port, however, large quantities of wool having been forwarded to Port Chalmers for transhipment. The Star of Tasmania is now receiving cargo. Vessels for the conveyance of wool appear to be in request, and our bay now presents a livelier appearance than it has done for some time past. Wool continues to come in from the stations satisfactorily. Several refreshing showers -which have lately fallen will doubtless benefit much the farmers' crops in this district. Some are now busy with the hay crop, and the yield is reported to be very good.
