The usual monthly meeting of the City Guards was held last evening at the Octagon Hotel— Lieutenant Mathieson in the chair. There was a good attendance. Alter the settlement of a number of unimportant matters, it was arranged that a match between the members of .the corps should take place on Saturday first. It was also resolved to send a challenge to No. 1 Company, Canterbury Rifles.

[ The JEditor will he obliged by Officers and Secretaries of all Volunteer Corps supplying him vnth any items of information interesting to Volunteers, such as the Scores of Matches, &c. All communications received before two o'clock p.m. will he inserted the same evening. ]
