THIS DAY. (Before the Hon. A. C. Strode, R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. David Sampson and Edward Smith, each charged with . this offence, were fined 20s. and costs, or the usual alternative.' Margaret Johnston, charged with allowing a goat to stray, was fined 5s and costs, V/m. Wilson, charged with allowing four goats to commit a similar offence, was fined 2s per head and costs. Jno. Thomas, charged with obstructing the footpath, was fined 5s and costs. "** Jno. W. Feger, charged with allowing a nuisance to exist on his premises, was fined 5s and costs. The case aginst Wm. M'Pherson, for a similar offence, was postponed until Thursday. Daniel Cremin, charged with allowing a chimney to take fire fire. As no evidence of the chimney being foul was given, the case was dismissed. ASSAULT. Jno. Sneed, charged with having assaulted one Elizabeth M‘Farlane on the 24th ult., was fined 30s and costs. STEALING. Jno. Earner, charged with stealing goods valued at £2OO, the property of Messrs Herbert, Haynes, and Co., was remanded until Thursday for further examination.
