THIS DAY. (Before the Hon. A. C. Strode, R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A host of inebriates were brought up this morning, and summarily dealt with. MINOR OFFENCES. Martin Power, charged Math driving a dray without his name written thereon, was fined os and costs. Charles Santag, charged with being at a distance from his horse and dray, was fined os and costs. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Margaret Foote was charged with this offence. The defendant did not appear. She was fined 20s and costs, and the amount of her bail was ordered to be forfeited. ROBBERY. William Townsend, on remand, charged with stealing on February last a watch-and chain, the property of Thomas Martin, was further remanded for 7 days, as the witnesses who are in Hokitika have not arrived.
