VEGETABLES ARE CHEAP.
Fresh cabbage and early beetroot are now plentiful and cheap', states the I.M.D Housewives need not pay over 2d lb for beetroot nor over Id lb (at most 3d each) for cabbage. Besides usual uses the cabbage is recommended (raw and finely shredded) in salads, and the beetroot (with vinegar or sauce) as a main hot vegetable dish. —Advt
