INDIAN MINERS' WAGES
Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, December 7. j The Indian Government delegate to the 1.L.0. coal conference, Milara Mullah, replying to a statement by I workers' delegates that Indian miner? wages were 8s a week, said that 8s :a week might seem low. but it could not be compared with western standards because many factor? had to be taken into account, including output and selling price. Efforts were being made to reorganise the mining industry to secure"prosperity and a consequent improvement in wages. There was a shortage of coal required for the export markets.
