N.Z. EAGLE CLUB'S CHRISTMAS PARTY
An enjoyable programme was presented at the recent Christmas party of the New Zealand Eagle Club for wives and fiancees of United States servicemen. Three guest artists, Misses Betty and Gay Valentine and Ngaire Granville, entertained with several items, and further interesting items on the programme were a general knowledge quiz of New Zealand and U.S.A., and community singing.
A new publication of the "NewZealand Eagle," the club's magazine, was of much interest to all present. The members were also able to collect copies of a cookery book containing 200 American recipes, published by the American Kiwis, v similar club in Auckland.
The Christmas cake, made by Mrs. Ruth. Salsbury, a member, was cut by the president. Miss A drey Waugh, who thanked all those who had entertained during the evening.
