LABOUR PLAN
DEFENCE OF AUSTRALIA
MELBOURNE, November 28. Defence was the principal subject discussed at the Labour Party conference today, when, after a prolonged discussion, the following motion was passed by a narrow majority:— "That permanent naval, military, and air forces are vital to the defence of Australia; that an advisory defence committee be set up to review continually Australia's defence needs; that voluntary forces undergoing naval, military, and air training be established to augment the permanent forces."
