MEW APPLICATION
INCREASED CHARGES
HARBOUR BOARD DECISION
"The Tribunal decision left the way open to the bnard to renew its application to the Tribunal at any time should any serious position arise which the board considered necessitated a review," said the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr. Sullivan) in a letter read at last night's meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board in connection with the Price Tribunal's decision of some months ago disallowing ti.e board's application to increase its charges. "It seems to me that the board, having regard to the altered circumstances since the time of the public hearing, may now decide to renew its application," stated the letter. "In that case, I am quite sure that the Tribunal will arrange to rehear the case without delay." It was reported that the board had replied that, because of the seriousness of the position, it would like the Tribunal to review the application at an early date. Mr. W. Appleton asked that the matter should be made urgent. The chairman (Mr. W. H. Price): That has been done.
