TO RESUME BY FEBRUARY 1 P.A. AUCKLAND, November 27

Resumption of their air service to New Zealand by February 1 is intended by Pari-American World Airways, This announcement was made by Mr. L. C. Reynolds, who manages the Pacific-Alaska division ot the ait tine and also controls the South Pacific service, when speaking by radio telephone this morning to Mr. L. L. White, of White's Aviation, Ltd.

Speaking from the San Francisco municipal airporl Mr. Reynolds said his company would be using DC4's to start the" South Pacific service. "Work is being pushed ahead with the conversion and delivery of essential equipment to commence operations, and we are looking forward with great pleasure to renewing the service to Auckland," said Mr. Reynolds.

Pan-American Airways had also placed an order for a number of Rainbow transport aircraft, which it was anticipated would be the fastest of their kind in air transportation, added Mr. Reynolds. These planes would cruise at 400 m.p.h. in the stratosphere, and would carry 40 passengers and be able to My more than 4000 miles without refuelling. They could tly to New Zealand in 24 hours, including stops.

The arrival of the DC4 Skymaster aircraft on regular-scheduled runs to Auckland will mark the change-over from seaplanes to land-based machines. Skymasters cruise with 40 to 44 passengers, mail, and express freight at four miles a minute.
