NAVAL VISITORS ENTERTAINED
I Delphiniums, iucullia, and miniature gladioli in pink shades and birch foliage screened the mirrored walls of the i lounge at the Waterloo Hotel yesterday afternoon when 230 guests attended a reception given by the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) and members of the Naval Board in honour of ViceAdmiral Sir Philip Vian and the captains and officers of H.M.S. Indefatigable, Urchin, and Wizard. Tlie guests were received by Mr. Jones. With him were Admiral Sir Philip Vian, the First Naval Member, Commodore J. H. Faulkner, R.N., the Second Naval Member, Captain Mark Tavlor, R.N., and the Naval Secretary. Captain W. J. G. Proph.it. Among the guests were the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser), the Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash), the Minister of Works (Mr. Semple) and Mrs. Semple, the Hon. A. McLagan and Mrs. McLagan, Mr. Tirikatene, member of the Executive Council representing the Native race, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Holland), Mr. and Mrs. VV. J. Poison, Mr. and Mrs. J.
