NEW BUSES

Sir,—ln Friday's "Post" I see that the Government is planning to augment the suburban bus service with 100 new vehicles, the chassis and engines having been purchased from America. For many years an English type chassis and engine have given sterling service on our New Zealand roads. Now does it ■seem quite fair that we in New Zealand send our produce to England, yet in return we turn elsewhere to obtain chassis for buses, thus taking work from our own kind? It docs nqt seem that England can be so far behind in her production schedule that we cannot get the requisite chassis from her, for a certain make of English car has already- made its appearance on our roads-I am' etC" FAIR PLAY.
