BROMWICH BEATS HOPMAN

SYDNEY, November 23. In the semi-finals of the New South Wales tennis championships Bromwich beat Hcpman 7-5, 6-2, 6-1, and Pails beat Brown 6-4, 8-6, 6-1. Bromwich after his discharge from the services is playing just as well as, if not batter than, before the war. Pails and Brown are young aspirants for the Australian Davis Cup team. Both play an attacking game similar to the Americans and both have terrific services. ' Quist was unable to play in the singles championship because of tennis elbow.
