REACTIONS IN U.S.A.

WASHINGTON, November 14,

The British rejection of President Truman's proposal for the admission of 100,000 Jews is denounced by some Congressmen and Jewish leaders, says the "New York Times" correspondent. Rabbi Baruch Korff, leader of the rabbis who paraded to .the Capitol, said: "This is a death sentence to European Jewry. The committee pro-, posal is a well-known British trick to postpone action. I feel that this announcement will cause bloodshed in Palestine." Senator Mead (Democrat, New York) denounced the committee proposal. "I have no hope in the deliberations of a fact-finding body when action is needed," he said. "If President Truman's proposal had been accepted we would have found out much sooner how many (European Jews wish to go to Palestine."
