APPEAL FOR NURSES
VACATION JOB FOR STUDENTS
The demands on the Karitane Nurses' Bureau operated by the Plunket Society, continue to be heavy, and the number of nurses available falls far short of the number of mothers requiring assistance. As most nurses are booked for the next two months, and many cases are emergencies involving the care of children who are well, an appeal is made to students to assist during the vacation. Should a sufficient number of students be available, the position would be greatly eased and the Karitane nurses would be allocated to cases necessitating their special care, as say in the cases of sick babies.
In addition to students, there may possibly be older women, who would not care for permanent work, but may be in a position to accept cases of short duration in order to give relief to mothers. Any persons interested may call and discuss the matter with the Charge Nurse or the Karitane Nurses' Bureau secretary, 18 Kent Terrace, or by telephoning 53-171.
