„. LONDON, October 27. Moscow radio says that Generalissimo Stalin, who is on holiday at Sochi, in the Caucasus, received the American Ambassador, Mr. Averell Harriman, there on October 24. Mr. Harriman handed him a message, from President Truman dated October 14, and when he had delivered it supplemented it with an additional commentary.

The diplomatic correspondent of "The Times" says it is understood the message seeks to assure; Generalissimo Stalin that the breakdown of the recent Foreign Ministers' Conference in London was not due to any ill will or prearranged policy, but to a genuine and honest difference in interpreting the Crimean and Potsdam decisions.
