HATAITAI CROQUET CLUB.
1 The Hataitai Municipal Croquet Club was opened recently by the Mayor (Mr. Appleton), who congratulated the members upon their enthusiasm, wiiicn had not weakened despite the clubs having been in recess for several years. The president (Mrs. P. mcWhannell) said a small' unit of the club had carried on during, the occupation of the croquet grounds by tne military authorities, and had mamtained the club's membership of tne Croquet Association. The day yvnen croquet would resume at Hataitai -naa long been awaited, she said, ana m the meantime members had taken pari in many patriotic activities. The Pfesident said she appreciated the kjn»"f^ of sister clubs that had offered playing facilities to the Hataitai members during that time. > ■ «».,_ AmSng the guests present were Mrs Appleton and Mrs. W.
