To conserve (? Canadian) dollars, the British Government has decided to suspend imports of newsprint from Canada, says the "Observer." It is still possible that the Canadian. Government will be able to advance coun-ter-proposals, but if not the British people will have to be content with four-page daily newspapers for an indefinite period. Last year Canada sent Britain £2,250,000 sterling worth of paper, as well as £5,750,000 sterling worth of news pulp.
