BAD TRAIN SMASH
DERAILMENT IN BRITAIN (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.) Rec. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 30. Sixteen people are believed to have been killed and 80 injiSred when an express bound from Perth to London was derailed shortly after 9 a^m. between Boxmoor and Trmg. The engine, tender, and six coaches were derailed, four of the coaches being overturned when they fell down a 30----foot bank. ; !
The driver and fireman are believed to be still, under the wreckage. More than 50 injured were taken to a West Hertfordshire hospital. Some were in a very serious condition. . .',.'. The number. of; casualties had increased by midday, and another hospital had to be utilised. . . A special inquiry will be held into the* cause of the accident.
