SERVICE LEAVE TRIPS

ACCOMMODATION PROBLEM P.A. AUCKLAND, Sep. 29,

Owing to inability to "obtain accommodation in the four main centres and at Invercargill, Rotorua, New Plymouth, Napier, and Whangarei, the travel authorities in Auckland are finding it impossible -to arrange itineraries for many returned servicemen who wish to use their leave passes for Dominion tours. With the idea of assisting the returned men and travel authorities, a scheme has been proposed for the urgent consideration of the Dominion executive of the R.S.A. on Tuesday. The plan is for the branches of the R.S.A. in the centres named to make public appeal for offers to billet travelling service personnel. It is felt that the public will make a ready response if it is understood that this method is the only possible solution of the present difficulties. __^_
