(To the Editor.) Sir, —I take this opportunity of thanking the Government for granting travelling warrants to returned men, but I would like to put in a plea for those men whose mothers have passed on and also those who have mothers who are hot fit physically to accompany their, sons. In such cases would the Government give consideration to the suggestion that some other member of the family be allowed to take the mother's place? Our lads have been too long separated fr->m us to really enjoy the free travel grant if it has to be taken alone. Most people know how wearisome travelling, staying at guest hotels, and so on becomes if one is alone, but with a congenial companion it is altogether different. —I am, etc.,
