A wound to his left thigh and abrasions to his knee were received by Ronald Mair, a scholar, of 23 Farnham Street, Mornington, when the front axle of his bicycle broke while he was Tiding down Bidwell Street shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday. He was taken to hospital by. the Free Ambulance. The formation of a retailers' association in Lower Hutt City was effected at a meeting sponsored by the Hutt Valley Junior Chamber of Commerce recently. It was stated that the chief aim of the organisation was to improve facilities in the city. First considerations would be the improvement of transport and shopping facilities. Officers elected were:—Chairman, Mr. E. S. Carey: secretary, Mr. L. V. Phillips; executive committee, Messrs. F. Elbe, S. Biberman, W. Lewis, J. Souness, and Mrs. Kunz.
