WELLINGTON MAN'S WIN
WAXGANUI, September 30. j Cycling of a high standard was seen in the Palmerston North to Wansanui road race held on Saturday afternoon over a course of 47 miles. Individual placlngs were:—J. Plcknell (Wellington), handicap, IGmin, time, lhr 4S mln, 48% sec, 1; D. Hatilt (Feilding), lfimin, time lhr 48min 52sec, 2; N. Rodgers (Feilding), 16mln, time, lhr 49niin 46sec, 3. K. Dutton (Wellington), off scratch, made fastest time and established a new record, clocking lhr 41min ISsec. T. Phiipot-and D. Adams (both of Wanganui) and back markers, also beat the previous record, clocking lhr 41 mm 18 l-10sec and lhr 41min IS l-ssec respectively. There were 21 starters.
