RESUMPTION OF ACTIVITIES

New regulations governing formation .and administration of defence riile clubs had been prepared and were receiving the attention ol the Government, said the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) in the House of Representatives yesterday in reply to an urgent question by Mr. G. TI. Macldey (National. Master ton).

The Minister added that a statement would be made as soon as possible as to the facilities that could be provided to enable rifle clubs to resume activities, and it would also have reference to the question of the issue of ammunition.

Mr. Mackley said the urgency of the matter was tliat rifle shooting enthusiasts were desirous of taking up their favourite summer recreation and did not wish to commit themselves to other forms of sport if rifle clubs were to be revived.at an early date.
