HOCKEY
REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS
Although the Wellington Hockey Association's season officially ends next Saturday, there are still several representative matches to be played out of Wellington. Teams submitted by the selectors for these fixtures were accepted at a meeting of the management committee of the association last evening and appointments for the matches made.
The following teams have been chosen to play against Manawatu at Palmerston North next Saturday. (Any players not available should communicate with the secretary of the Hockey Association): —
Colts' team.—McCutcheon (Tech. O.B.); Tandy (Wellington), Wicks W.C.0.8.); Smith (Tech. O.B.), Dowdall (Wellington College), LaHood (Wellington); Nixon (Rongotai), Lord (Karori), Adams (Wellington College), O'Connor (Wellington College), Jauncey (Huia).
Senior team.—A. Marshall (Huia): Croskery (Karori), Thrush (Huia); J Tynan (Karori), W. Shaw (Hutt). Hemsley (Karori); Chapman (Hutt). Jackson (Hutt), Townes (Varsity). Ferguson (Wellington), McKelvie (Wellington). R. Dowdall was appointed captain of the colts' team and W. Shaw of the senior team. Mr. A. Marshall will be the manager of both teams. A second grade representative match is to be played against Canterbury at Christchurch on Saturday, September 22, the Wellington players for which are as follows:—Sama; Church, Leask; Becker, Hemsley, Bennett; Silestion. Rigden, Feichert, Griggs, Inglis. Emergency, Kasanji. In response to an invitation from the Wairarapa Hockey Association, the management committee decided last evening to send a senior B team to play Wairarapa on September 22.
