LONDON, September 11.

The famous 2nd New Zealand Division has been withdrawn from operational duties.

In a dispatch from Home a correspondent says members of the Division are now resting near Florence and will be shipped home is transport becomes available.

It is understood that the whole division will be sent home by February, when General Freyberg is due to.take up the GovernorGeneralship.

Before its departure from Italy the Division will be asked to supply 5000 unmarried volunteers to serve as occupation forces in the Pacific.
