FOR AUSTRIAN PEOPLE

CONTROL BODY'S DECISION

LONDON, September 11. The first meeting- of the Allied Control Council for Austria, which was held in Vienna today, decided to increase the food ration for the people to a basic minimum of 1550 calories from the present 800 calories. The new standard is to come into force on September 23. The Council reached no decision on the status of Dr. Renners Government.

It is understood that jthe Soviet representative suggested recognising the Government and extending its power over the whole of Austria, but that the British delegate contended it was nor a representative Government, and further discussion was postponed until the next meeting on September 23.
