PRICE OF BRICKS
The opinion that the present-day nrice of bricks was too high and that State brick works should be started was expressed by Mr. P. Carr (Government, Auckland West) when he spSke in the Budget debate ,in the House of Representatives last night. Mi Carr said he thoufiht.it time that an inquiry was made into the cost of building materials^ more especially into the cost of bncKS. In Ne\v Zealand there was more plastic cay, fo? brick-making than could possibly, be u-sed in 100 years. In his opinion there was a nice little combine, "seeing to it that we do not get bricks.
