DEER CAMPAIGN
The campaign against the deer would continue possibly until New Zealand had a population of 10,000,000, said Major G. F. Yerex, of the Internal Affairs Department, at a meeting of the North Canterbury Catchment Board. He hoped, however, that in five years the number of deer would be reduced to a point where regeneration would start again in areas of forest where at present there was no regeneration at all.
