AUCKLAND BUSES
TRIBUNAL TO BE SET UP
p.A. AUCKLAND, Sept. 9. The Acting Minister of Labour, Mr. O'Brien, has agreed to set up a tribunal to consider matters in dispute between the Auckland bus drivers and their employers. The result of this decision is that the drivers will not now carry out their threat to cease operations on Monday morning, the time limit placed by the men on their request for a tribunal. The Minister received the secretary of the Auckland Drivers' Union, Mr. L. G. Matthews, and a committee of drivers, and was given an outline of the drivers' claims:

It was stated tonight that Mr. O'Brien's announcement has not been favourabaly received by the representatives of the men, who will hold a committee meeting tomorrow. They are not satisfied with Mr. O'Brien's statement that he would appoint a Magistrate as chairman of the tribunal. They demand that the tribunal should sit this week. The operation of the services after midnight tomorrow will depend on the findings of the committee) meeting.
