VETERANS' HOME APPEAL
New Zealand servicemen in Australia are. assisting in a nation-wide appeal for funds for a home for war veterans in Sydney, and they have nominated Miss Maida Harm as "Miss Anzac" in a .contest in which more than 100 Australian girls are competing for the honour of becoming Miss "" Australia. 1945, in the drive lo raise money. New Zealand diggers were assisted handsomely last Saturday when a considerable portion of the stake won by Sleepy Fox in the Canterbury Stakes was donated to "Miss Anzac's" fund by the owners.
