PATRIOTIC WORK

FUTURE OF COMMITTEES

The future of metropolitan and provincial patriotic committees in New Zealand now that the end of the war has.come and most of the New Zealanders abroad can be expected home during the next few months is still in doubt, but will be discussed by a full meeting of the National Patriotic Fund Board early next month. The acting secretary, Mr. A. H. Gibson, said today that he did not knowhow long the work of the patriotic committees would continue at full pressure, but that it was obvious that some change would probably come shortly. Until representatives had discussed the position at next month's meeting there could be no definite announcement on policy.
