The Liverpool and Strongman State mines were idle yesterday owing to a dispute over holiday pay for VJ Day. and at a rmss meeting last evening it war. decided to await a readjustment of the rat? in accordance with the terms of their local agreement before resuming work. Th- resignation of Captain A. V. Fale~Monro fvcm the position of commanding officer of the Navy League Sea C?d*t Corps was received with regret at' a" meeting of the Wellington Navy League yesterday. Captain Hale Monro has held the position for four, years. .
