EVACUATION COMPLETE
JAPANESE IN HONG KONG
Rec. 11.20 a.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 3. The evacuation of the Japanese forces from Hong Kong was completed last Saturday, says the Domei news agency. Some minor disputes arose when British forces attempted to dis-arm-the Japanese in some localities. Details of the surrender of Hong Kong are still under negotiation. The Canadian Press says that a Chinese crowd beat an armed Japanese soldier to death on August 27 when the first British occupation forces landed.
