The following message has been received by the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) from Field-Marshal Alexander: — , . , "Thank you so much for your kind telegram of congratulations, which I deeply appreciate. It will always be to me a matter for great pride that I had the honour of commanding your magnificent New Zealand soldiers. No one has done more to gain victory we now enjoy than General Freyberg and his men."
