ADMIRAL KIMMEL
NEW YORK, September 2. v Rear-Admiral Husband E. Kimmel will call for a showdown to clear his name, and his demand will undoubtedly meet with a sympathetic reception in Washington, says the "New York Herald Tribune's" correspondent. A Navy Board of Inquiry into the Pearl Harbour disaster sharply criticised Admiral Kimmel, who was commander of the Pacific Fleet when the Japanese struck.
