POSTING-BOX JAMMED

Several people who tried to post letters in the postal PjH^ box at tne corner of Mercer and Willis Streets were unable to do so this morning because the mouth of the box was crammed full of letters, and some had fallen on the pavement, and a number of people who tried to insert their mail into the box were forced to seek elsewhere for a posting box. When a postal messenger cleared the box later, he found that a large letter, 15m by 6in, had been forced in the aperture and as it had not fallen into the box'it had caused all the mail subsequently put in to pile up. Through the careless action of some person who should have taken the large letter to the Chief Post Office, a good deal of annoyance had been caused.
