STATUS OF TANGIER

NEW AGREEMENT SIGNED

LONDON, August 31. An agreement on the provisional status and administration of Tangier was signed in Paris today by representatives of Britain, the United States, France, and Russia. Later, the interested Powers will hold a fullscale conference. A correspondent says the details of the provisional agreement are not likely to be made known for some days. The decisions will be sent to the Spanish Government for approval and appropriate action. The international regime at Tangier was disrupted in 1940 by the Franco Government after the downfall of France. ____________
