ATOMIC BLAST

SECRET OF AMERICANS

EMPIRE NATIONS' POLICY (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) Rec. 9 a.m. OTTAJVA, August 14. The Minister of Munitions, Mr. C. D. Howe, told newspapermen that the United States was the only country that knew all the details of the atomic bomb. The information would be available to Britain and Canada if they asked for it. Canada made essential parts of the bomb but decided not to ask for complete details for security reasons and the United Kingdom followed a similar course. Mi\ Howe added that it was a good thing not to have too much information at the time. All information about the, possible industrial and peacetime use of atomic energy was being exchanged between the United States, Britain, and Canada. Canada's stocks of uranium are now sufficient, but about 20 prospecting parties are seeking new deposits.
