CHINESE REPRESENTATION AT SURRENDER
Kec. 10 a.m. CHUNGKING. Aug. 14. The grave situation between the Chungking Government and the nor-th-ern Communists precludes the possibility of President Chiang Kai-shek representing China at the Japanese surrender ceremony, states a cbrrespon-* dent of the Associated Press of Great Britain. It is reported on good authority that the Chinese delegation will be headed by General Hsu Yung-chang, chief of the Chungking Board of Military Operations. The Communists are reported to be moving to Shanghai and Nanking, key cities on the coast, without which Chungking's position would be seriously weakened.
