RELIEF PROPOSAL
PLAY AREA FOR RONGOTAI COLLEGE
A means of providing recreation, grounds for Rongotai College was indicated in a letter from the Minister of Works (Mr. Semple) received by the Wellington Colleges Board of Governors yesterday. The Minister stated that the War Cabinet had approved of financial assistance being given to the Wellington City Council to enable it to complete Melrose Park and Cashmere Park the amount expended to Ibe taken into account when the question of restoring the Wellington City reserves now occupied by military camps arises. It was a condition of such assistance that the Corporation shall make the Kilbirnie playing area available to the Rongotai College during five days of the week at once and keep them so until it has alternative grounds prepared, or for three years, which ever is the less. He awaited the Council's acceptance of the conditions laid down, when further necessary action might be taken.,
