FINES OF £10
Peter James Christensen, soldier, 29, and John Todd Mooney, sailor 20, pleaded guilty in . the Magistrate's Court today to a joint charge of converting a jeep valued at £350, the p?opSy of the U.S. Government. It was stated that the accused had not converted the vehicle in the accepted meaning of the word, but had pushed the ieep down Boulcott Street more in a spirit of mischief than malice. Both held responsible positions on board their overseas ship and had a good record "It is difficult to know what to do with you chaps," said the Magistrate (Mr. J. L. Stout). "You come off ships and interfere with peoples cars. You will be fined.£lQ each'
