REFRESHER COURSE
KINDERGARTEN STAFF'S IMPRESSIONS
' An interested gathering of Free Kindergarten workers, including members of the council, local committees, staff, and students, was held at the Newtown Free Kindergarten recently to hear the staff's impressions of the refresher course heid in Christchurch in, May.
Mrs. J. A. Doctor, president, spoke of the kind hospitality shown visiting delegates by the Christchurch'Free Kindergarten Association. She commended the way the whole course was planned for the interest and comfort of the delegates, who came from Invercargill, Dunedin, Timaru, Wellington, the Hutt. and Hastings.
. Miss Enid Wilson, principal, introduced the various speakers, each of whom spoke on some aspect of kindergarten organisation in Christchurch, including buildings and equipment, general organisation. Mothei-s' Club work, and student training. Extracts from lectures given 'by Professors Sutherland and Field. Dr. Winterbourne, and Dr. Helen Deem were also given.
Votes of thanks were accorded the Wellington Free Kindergarten Council for help towards the travelling expenses of the staff; Miss Scott for making it possible for the nursery school assistant to attend the refresher course; and the Christchurch association for its hospitality. '
