ARMY PRISONERS RIOT

Rec. 12.30 p.m. NEW YORK, June 1.

One prisoner was killed and three others wounded during a riot and fire at Fort Harrison army disciplinary barracks in Indianapolis. Major-General James Collins said that fires broke out at widely-separated spots -while rioting was in progress, burning nine barracks buildings and causing 100.000 dollars' damage. There were 1900 prisoners involved in the riots—all American soldiers, including many who had been court-martialled overseas for serious offences.
