FRESH ARMY
UNDER MOUNTBATTEN
FORMED FROM BRITISH UNITS (By Telegraph—Press Association—-Copyright.) Rec. 9 a.m. BOMBAY, June 1, A new British Army known as the 12th Army, has been formed by the South-cast Asia Command, states the Associated Press correspondent.
It will be commanded by Lieut.General Montague Stopford, who led the 38th Indian Corps during the Burma campaign.
