WESTPORT HARBOUR
PA WESTPORT, This Day. The Buller County Council has resolved to request the Minister of Marine to release Mr. Furkert's reply, if any has been made, to the criticism by the committee of engineers of his report on the proposals for the construction of a master groyne at Tauran^a Bay and the extension of the breakwaters of the Westport Harbour. The councillors felt that the public should be acquainted with all the facts and that the position had now become so serious that the matter should not be delayed any .longer It was also resolved to ascertain if it had been possible to secure the services of an overseas engineer .from an experienced harbour construction firm,
