ALIENS IN NEW ZEALAND

O.C. PALMERSTON N., This Day. Strong resentment at the infiltration of aliens into the business and commercial life of the Dominion was expressed by a member at the annual meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the R.S.A. The president, Mr. A. W. Mewton, explained that the Dominion executive had made representations to the Government in the matter but had received no satisfaction. It was one of the outstanding matters on which a clear-cut decision was required. He understood that further remits from branches would be placed before the Dominion conference to be held later in the year. "This is one of the matters on which the Government is stalling," added Mr. Mewton.
